ANU Community Development Corporation is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Metro Atlanta. We are caregivers, advocates, and community builders many of us with personal experience navigating the exact challenges our programs address.
We believe that dignity is not a privilege. That a senior deserves to age in their own home. That a caregiver deserves rest and support. That a veteran deserves stable housing. That a woman facing medical hair loss deserves to feel whole. And that no family should have to figure any of this out alone.
Our Caregiver Support Program is dedicated to Doris Ross and to every family quietly carrying more than they should ever have to carry alone.
Doris Ross is a grandmother, a matriarch, and a woman who spent her life showing up for the people she loves. Today, she lives with Alzheimer's disease and her daughter shows up for her every single day, without pay, without a break, and without nearly enough support.
Doris makes too much money to qualify for Medicaid. Medicare doesn't cover her in-home personal care needs. And private pay is simply out of reach. Her daughter like millions of unpaid family caregivers across America fell through every crack in the system at once, carrying a weight that is financial, physical, and emotional all at the same time.
There was no program designed for families like theirs. No resource that addressed the gap between what the system offers and what a family truly needs. So we built one.
ANU Community Development Corporation's caregiver support program was born directly from Doris's story and from the belief that if it's happening in our family, it's happening in yours too and we refused to leave others there alone.
To strengthen Metro Atlanta communities by providing affordable housing support, caregiver and senior resources, financial empowerment, and wraparound services so every family has the stability and dignity they deserve.
Our programs are designed for the people the system most often overlooks those who earn too much to qualify for assistance but too little to afford the help they need. We walk alongside:
We are working toward a world where no daughter has to carry what our mother carried alone. A Metro Atlanta where the gap between what people need and what they can access no longer exists where every senior ages with dignity, every caregiver is supported, and no family falls through the cracks of a system that was meant to help them.
A community where housing, health, and human dignity are not privileges, but guarantees and where no one, no matter their income or circumstance, ever has to face their hardest moments alone.
